1st month accomplishment

2 pounds. My goal is to lose 2 lbs. a week but instead lost 2 lbs for the whole month. Well what can I say? I promised not to cheat but there are times when I have to give in to food, especially when I'm in Manila :S 2 lbs ain't bad. I shall make it 3 this Feb :) Go! Go! Go!

Workout videos:

On my 3-day workweek:

1) 30 Day Shred - I do this every other day and I am starting Level 2 on Jan 31.

2) Walking - I always have my pedometer with me and see to it I walk 5,000 steps on my workout days and 10,000 steps on my non-work out days.
When it's a cheat day, it's a cheat day! Eat anything without limits!

On my Off days: 1 day gym, 1 day jog, 1 day 30DS and malling, 1 day rest

I read this long time ago and thought of sharing it with you: When you are losing weight without involving an exercise program, you are also losing muscles in the process and we all know that muscles burn calories, thus when you stop cutting calories and start eating again, all the muscles you lost will be replaced by fat, thus making you fatter and look bigger. Kaya dapat mag weights :) For this, I recommend Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zone and The Firm

I shall try Turbofire soon. Godluck Dieters :)

Day 1 of Week 1

I am officially starting my diet today and I hope that it is something that I can stick to by blogging about it. At 5'1 , I currently weigh 60 kilos, yes you read it right, a whopping 132 lbs. My initial goal is to lose 2 lbs. a week and eventually lose 8 lbs by first quarter, 15 lbs by 2nd and 20 lbs by 3rd quarter. It's realistic and attainable right? Today I will start again and this time stick to it!

First thing is to jumpstart my metabolism by doing a regular exercise. I have already downloaded 30-day shred by Jillian Michaels 2 months ago and will start Day 1 today. I will also do her No More Trouble Zones for toning. I can say that it is effective since I lost 4 lbs last September by doing it daily and by incorporating some running and other workout videos. Good thing about it is it's only 25 minutes a day and it promises one to lose 20 pounds in 30 days. I highly recommend it for starters. Try it :)

Next is to get rid of the junk foods and when I say get rid - yes get rid of it by all means - Throw away or give it away. I gave away almost all of my chocolates as Christmas presents and those which I got during the Holidays were left in Manila :p I still have one box of Meiji Dark Chocolate here in SG (did I mention almost all?) and will keep it for emergency. :)

Eat more fruits and vegetables. I should be careful which fruits to choose. I'm always fond of bananas but I know that apple is always the better alternative. Eating vegetables is not a problem as I lurve lurve lurve gulay.

Fourth thing is to cut out juice and diet soda and stick to water. Enough said.

Track it. One is by blogging and the other means is by using this tool - http://www.livestrong.com/myplate/ I used this last September when I was at my heaviest. I was able to lose 2 lbs. a week and a total of 6 lbs. for one month here. It wasn't a strict diet but I did a lot of exercising and running that time which really helped.

And if all else fails, pray!

Starting is hard, losing is harder, and maintaining is the hardest! Kaya simulan na ito!

What's yours?

Two days to go and it'll be a new year. 2010 has been a good year for me, so many blessings have come and wishes granted. And now I am so excited for 2011, I feel like it'll be a good year for me. And to make it better, I have come up with my New Year's resolution which I think I should share with you:

1) Diet and workout! - This time I should really stick to it! And to make it more challenging & exciting, I'll create a blog about this and keep you updated about my weight loss. My target is to lose 10-15lbs by April.

2) Save and invest- I should try other means of saving - mutual fund, stocks, real estate, etc.

3) Plan an out of country trip - Isn't this something big to look forward to? I and my cousin are cooking something up and it's still a secret haha. What's more exciting than having an out of town/country wth your closest girlfriend?

4) Learn something new - Either enrol myself in a technical course, learn a different language, photography, or try cooking a different cuisine - anything new will do!

5) A new hairstyle - Shorter or dyed hair - always wore my hair short and dyed (Burgundy) in College - geeeesh that was gazillion years ago. I'll do this before going back to Singapore

6) Jogging - I should distinguish this thing from working out. LOL. Either once or twice a week jogging should make my list. This is a must in Singapore!

7) Eat, Pray, Love - I haven't seen this film --- YET but I vow to eat healthy, pray a lot, love and smile more :D

8) Blog :)

That's all for now. Happy Holidays :)
